Some may know Fred Mascherino as the former singer/guitarist of Taking Back Sunday; others know him for the power-pop splendor of his new project, the Color Fred. However, those really in the know wear his signature under the soles of their feet. Fred’s Macbeth signature Studio Project, the Fred Mascherino F.P. Mascho, was designed to suit Fred’s daily needs and core values: a completely vegan shoe (i.e., no leather or other animal products used in its construction/testing) with Velcro straps and extra padding in all the places a person needs. Fred recently dispensed a bit of beardly wisdom about his custom footwear.

Matt Maiellaro is the co-creator and writer of Aqua Teen Hunger Force. Prior to working on Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Maiellaro produced and wrote for Space Ghost: Coast to Coast since its inception in 1994. Maiellaro’s writing partner and friend Dave Willis started writing for Space Ghost Coast to Coast in 1995 and have since made short independent films together (notably the live action short A Day Off, which is about a Michael Myers puppet and what he does when he takes a day off from murdering). In 2000 Maiellaro and Willis created Aqua Teen Hunger Force, which was actually an indirect spinoff from Space Ghost Coast to Coast. Maiellaro and Willis released a full-length feature film of Aqua Teen Hunger Force on April 13, 2007.

Meatwad, the lovable, childlike mound of morphing meat, may not be the brains behind the cartoon superhero team Aqua Teen Hunger Force, but he does possess a special kind of wisdom. The key word there is “special.” Maybe not as special as Interference Incorporated, the guerilla marketing firm who, in late January 2007, brought Boston to a standstill with a series of carefully positioned Lite-Brite-esque Mooninites… But special nonetheless. Synthesis spoke with Meatwad shortly prior to the ATHF anti-marketing fiasco and asked him to solve the problems that confound humankind.

Danny Elfman is ok at what he does.
He has only composed the music to some of the biggest films of the past 20 years (Pee Wee’s Big Adventure, Men In Black, Batman, Nightmare Before Christmas, Chicago). One of rock’s most talented and skilled drummers, Stephen Perkins’ tribal and powerful drumming style served as a main ingredient for the wide-ranging sound of alt-rock greats Jane’s Addiction, Porno For Pyros
In addition to his Jane’s Addiction duties, Perkins is a much in-demand session drummer (lending his talents to albums by Sheryl Crow, Jewel, Rage Against the Machine, No Doubt, Nine Inch Nails, and the Red Hot Chili Peppers), as well as indulging in the all-star experimental outfit Banyan with former Minutemen bassist Mike Watt . Perkins was also a brief member of the funk metal outfit Infectious Grooves, manned the drum kit for Tommy Lee’s Methods of Mayhem 2000 tour, and spends his spare time giving drum clinics and hosting music therapy classes for the physically disabled.
