[...] A couple months back I interviewed Aloe Blacc and on a couple different times throughout our conversation he would mention this cat Blu. He kept talking about how dope he was, and how he was working with producer Exile, who with Aloe made up Emanon. Ironically, I met Blu a few months later during an interview with Ta’Raach, and Blu ended up sitting down and joining in on the interview which you can watch here. Between the two co-signs I was pretty much convinced, but after hearing his official debut Below The Heavens (his collaboration with Exile) I’m confident putting in an early bid for Rookie of the Year. He brings a confident swagger and undeniable skill to the table, holding his own over Exiles perfected productions. The whole thing bangs from start to end, and has that fun summer feel to it that will keep it in rotation. Stream the first single “The Narrow Path” above, and also be on the lookout for Johnson & Johnson later this year and C.R.A.C. with Ta’Raach. Got heat on deck!
