“Won’t Do,” the first single off of the late J Dilla’s BBE release The Shining is more of a celebration and ode to one of hip hop’s greatest producers, than the typical self serving music video. Lead by his young brother John Yancey, who inherits many of Dilla’s physical qualities, with friends and long time collaborators Common, Talib Kweli, Black Thought and Frank-N-Dank, “Won’t Do” is just as beautifully visually as it is musically. Dilla’s presence will be forever missed, but his music and legend will be here forever.
